The proposals will deliver 1,750 new homes - of which 50% will be truly affordable (875 houses). This will include a mix of:
This means that 875 households who either need affordable rented accommodation, or want to buy but can't in the current market, will have a significantly better opportunity to be able to do so.
The proposals will deliver a Care Village that includes a range of apartments and homes, as well as a number of facilities for those that live on site - including gym, hair salon, library, kitchen and other community services. A Care Village provides security and staff on-site 24 hours a day, with CCTV and emergency call system; housekeepers are able to clean your home and undertake local residents' laundry. In addition, should it be required, residents are able to have additional care in the form of nursing, respite and dementia care.
The local centre will provide facilities for everyday use, including a convenience store, office 'hub', restaurant / pub, and nursery.
In addition to the above physical works on the site and in the immediate surrounding area, the development will also make a range of significant financial contributions towards local infrastructure, including:
A new primary school will be delivered as part of the proposals - this will be sufficient for a 2-form entry school (420 pupils) which will provide separate green space including new playing pitches. Providing a school on the site will take pressure of existing infrastructure and other schools in the area.
